This case study infographic highlights the type of internet of things provided and utilized by Royal Caribbean, a cruise ship company. With technology becoming advanced, Royal Caribbean has implemented its own use of technology aboard. The three internet of things devices discussed are facial recognition, Wowbands, and medallions. 

From this project, I learned how industries across the board use internet of things devices in their everyday operations to improve and elevate both customer and employee experiences. Facial recognition helps make Royal Caribbean’s guests check-in more efficient, allows employees to easily locate guests, and serves as a key to unlock guests’ rooms. Wowbands encourage guest spending throughout the cruise ship and grant access into staterooms. Medallions allow the company to analyze guest behavior in order to create personalized recommendations.
